About the Project:
The Township of Alnwick/Haldimand is developing a Master Plan to guide municipal investment in parks and recreation over the next 20 years. The plan consists of 3 projects:
- Project 1: An assessment of the Township’s community centres and libraries to determine the level of investment required in these buildings over the long-term
- Project 2: An Arena Feasibility Study to evaluate the sustainability of the existing arena against the options to renovate or replace this asset over time
- Project 3: A playing Fields, Parks, Boat Launch and Trails Feasibility Study to determine opportunities to enhance the Township’s open space network.
The Approach to Developing the Plan
Sierra Planning and Management - a multi-disciplinary planning firm, has been retained to lead the development of the new Master Plan. The Parks Master Plan will be developed through a comprehensive public consultation process, complemented by a thorough analysis of current and projected community needs, and best practice.
Get Involved!
The Master Plan project will involve consultation with a range of stakeholders (including community and sport groups) as well as the public in identifying current needs, issues and priorities for recreation and parks investment in the Township.
The project will employ a range of means to gather public input including public consultation sessions. Keep checking this webpage to follow the progress of the project and see how you can provide your input on the Master Plan.
